Elizabeth Pincott

Director | Psychologist | Individual & Couples Schema Therapist | Gottman Couples Therapist

Elizabeth is the founder of Breakfree Psychology Services and a Psychologist with expertise in clinical psychology and over 16 years experience treating clinical presentations.

Elizabeth is one of the few psychologists in Townsville and North Queensland who is highly trained in the Gottman method for couples counselling and skilled in treating couples with conflict, unfulfilling relationships, and specific relationship problems using the Gottman Method of Couples Counselling. She is also able to assist with all anxiety and depressive related conditions, personality vulnerabilities and eating disorders.

Elizabeth’s preferred practice is to use Schema Therapy with individuals and Gottman Couples Therapy with couples counselling. Elizabeth is a Level 3 Trained Gottman Couple’s Therapist, an Advanced Trained Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, Advanced Trained ACT Therapist and is highly trained in Schema Therapy for individuals and couples. 

Elizabeth is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency (AHPRA), a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPI), and the International Society of Schema Therapists (ISST).


Practice Manager

Ryan is our practice manager, responsible for managing the online and in person clinics.

Ryan is able to assist with all things operational and manages our day to day practice to ensure it runs like clock work! Ryan has an extensive background in operations, management, risk and is also a competitive athlete.

Ryan has experienced the challenges of having a family member struggle with mental illness and has in-depth knowledge of how the right supports can assist a person in being able to live a full and fulfilling life. Assisting those with a disability is a passion for Ryan.

Kerstie hamilton

Provisional Psychologist

Kerstie is a provisional psychologist of our Telehealth (online) clinic.

Kerstie has clinical experience working with children, disabilities and families including individuals effected by trauma and socio-economic barriers. Kerstie has a passion for helping children, families and individuals with communication and expressive challenges. Her intervention approach is creative with a focus on individualized strength-based expressions.

Kerstie has worked in community and social settings delivering in depth psychosocial assessments among crisis and at-risk populations. Kerstie has a nurturing and non-judgmental approach, prioritizing validation of emotion and creating a safe place for expression and vulnerability. She incorporates a range of therapeutic interventions individualized to client strengths and goals.  Including art therapy, narrative therapy, trauma informed care, mindfulness & ACT, CBT & behavioral activation and DBT for emotional regulation.


Nikola Sterling

Provisional Psychologist

Nikola is a provisional psychologist of our Telehealth (online) clinic.

Nikola's approach in therapy is based upon building good and honest therapeutic relationships. She like's to be dynamic and flexible with her clients to allow them to change the direction when it is needed, and for her to continually support the work with her understanding of the therapies and strategies that can encourage movement in the way needed. She appreciates feedback, when something is or isn’t working, and aims to build a collaborative relationship with you.

Nikola comes from a background of working with young people in various community and educational services in both Australia and the U.K. She has also gained experience working rurally, with clients of all ages. She is experienced in delivering sessions via telehealth services and is trained in a variety of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Compassion-Focussed Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy

Nikola is a registered provisional psychologist with the Australia Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
