Ndis (National disability insurance scheme)

The NDIS was created to assist people with a disability in their daily lives, and in turn ease the pressure that family members can often experience in trying to provide enough support to their loved one’s. It’s support that is tailored to an individuals needs, preferences and aspirations. Services are fully funded by the Australian Government. 

At Breakfree Psychology Services we have psychologists who are experienced in providing therapy and Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSP) under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), for NDIA Managed, Self Managed or Plan Managed individuals. We are passionate about helping participants achieve their NDIS goals so that you are able to live a more enriched and fulfilled life.

How do I apply for NDIS funding?

Please contact NDIS on 1800 800 110 or via www.NDIS.gov.au to enquire about your eligibility to receive NDIS funding.

What NDIS services can Breakfree Psychology provide?

We can provide counselling and psychological therapy, which falls under the ‘Improved Daily Living’ funding category in NDIS. Also, IQ testing. And, Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSP). Specifically we can assist with the following concerns;

What details do I need to provide Breakfree Psychology?

Please provide us with your NDIS number, your plan start and end dates, plan review date, funding amount allocated to psychology, goals for counselling, diagnosis and treating doctors information plus the details of your plan manager if you have one.

We will provide you with a service agreement at your first appointment for capacity building within your NDIS plan.

How will therapy services be provided?

We are currently offering online (referred to as Telehealth) and face to face therapy for NDIS participants. Once you schedule an appointment you will be sent a welcome email with a link to a Zoom meeting, which you will need to click on at the time of your session. If you have not used Zoom before you will need to click on the link prior to your session to ensure you are familiar with how it works. We have a helpful guide in our FAQ section of our website.

What does an assessment, therapy, or a positive behaviour support plan cost?

Fees range between $156.16 and $214.41 per hour, plus charges for all non face to face service provision (charged pro rata of hourly rate).

If you are self managed we will email you an invoice after your session, allowing you to claim the session fee from NDIS.

Plan managed participants will have invoices emailed directly to their plan manager.

If you are NDIA managed we will request payment from the NDIS on your behalf.

Positive Behaviour Support Plans

Breakfree Psychology Services has clinicians experienced in Positive Behaviour Support.

We develop our Positive Behaviour Support Plan with the participant in mind, including all aspects of their support and living arrangements to ensure our plans are holistic and are tailored to the participants specific needs.

A thorougher assessment is completed to understand the challenging behaviour. We consult all relevant allied health and medical professionals, family and support staff. A plan is developed to improve life and reduce the challenging behaviours. Lastly we train staff to ensure they are able to operationalise the plan.



NDIS Psychology Providers

Breakfree Psychology Services is an NDIS registered psychology practice, providing fully subsidised support for those living with a disability, to empower you to live a fulfilling life. We have your needs at the front of our minds and know you are the expert in your own life.

At your first session your therapist will discuss with you your goals for attending, to ensure your therapy is helping you work on the things that are most important to you. With this information as well as other information in your NDIS plan, such as funding and how your funding is to be charged, we will complete a service agreement that clearly identifies the agreement we have with you. Some of the goals we sometimes assist with are helping you manage your emotions (i.e. reduce anxiety), improve self-esteem and help you live more independently despite physical or emotional constraints.
